Howdy!

Well, to begin with, I’d like to answer an oft asked question—What does ‘amarllyis’ mean?—Well, it means nothing that you can find in a dictionary. I intended to name my blog “amaryllis” after the Greek name “fresh and sparkling” but messed up the spelling. It took me some time to figure out I had misspelled it. In my ignorance, I was very happy that every domain and username was at my disposal while I used “amarllyis”. When I did realise, I goofed up, it was already my identity on the Web and the “twist” made me feel lost as far as a “validation” from a dictionary went. During that transient phase, I wrote http://amarllyis.wordpress.com/2010/10/10/amarllyis-vs-amaryllis/

However, by then I was already knee-deep and one with what I named my blog—amarllyis. I decided to give a meaning to the word; the same meaning as my name—precious. That’s because this blog and everything I write in here is as precious to me as my life itself.  For me “amarllyis” is not only a “precious” way of self-expression but also my identity.

I believe we have one life and everyday is new, so everything you do must be a part of the real you. This blog is reflects the person I am and is also an attempt to create some good literature. I treasure it as it is an integral part of my life and I hope to keep writing for as long as I can.
